To end the day, we took a short walk. Lichtenberg Castle is also a lovely day trip. There's no admission charge. However, there's also a youth hostel up there. And it's accordingly loud and teeming with young people. Not so great for tourists, with all the running and screaming when the teenagers play

This morning, I cycled to Wächtersbach for a leisurely breakfast. Then I tested out the bike path to Bierstein. Bierstein isn't exactly big, but it does have a few nice spots. There's a nice bench under a large, shady tree at the Protestant church to rest on. Right in front of the memorial to the fallen in both World Wars.
