Ferry to Can Gio cost 100vnd, to Saigon 2vnd. Rung Sac Road is a six lane smooth paved road. Lots of cyclist doing their Sunday rides. After crossing many rivers on this tour, I finally learned how to bike on water.

Moderate to heavy traffic to mile 18. Then pleasant coastal biking on newly paved roads with almost no traffic. Many high risers, amusement parks, and condominiums being built.

Moderate to heavy traffic to the city of Phan Thiet. Superb coastal biking thereafter. Wonderland Resort aka Disneyland was unique, not quite finished yet. Tailwinds made the 50 miles easy.

Battery died, actual mileage around 95 miles. Biked Dragon's Graveyard (people say this is where dragons came to die and the earth scorched itself in grief) and Sand Dune Road. Superb day of cycling (except for about an hour of biking on Highway 1).

Núi Chúa Coast. Immediate 10% grade leaving the small village. Switchbacks from mile 10 to 14, some steep grades. At mile 14 turn left at the fork for Vinh Hy for food or resupply. At mile 24, visit the Sorrento Kite Center and watch the kite boarding! At mile 27, stay on the main road, village road is broken up, not much traffic on the main road. A superb, but hilly, bike day.

Highway started with a separate lane for motorcycles but that went away and then had a lot of traffic with no shoulder. Took a backroad a bit later which was lovely biking through corn and rice fields but then that turned into messy gravel for 2 miles. I would avoid that and bike back to Highway 1 at mile 30. Bien Tien is a town under construction, not much here. Deserted pristine white sand beach. Convenient place to stop on the way to Phan Rang if using the coastal route.

All Highway 1 biking, surprisingly "tolerable" traffic. Boring straight, basically A to B route.
