Once from Huchting to Delmenhorst and back. The landscape and especially the chicks of the ducks and the great crested grebes convey a touch of spring even if the wind is still damn fresh. The route is more recommended by bike, there is a lot going on / along roads, it was not so nice for hiking.

Hui, that was colder and windier than expected. The next NORDPFAD was on my list, it went to Scheeßel. As always, the path is well signposted. Many paths are paved, but there is almost always the possibility to walk next to the asphalt on the grass verge. I felt I saw more deer than people. I recommend late spring or autumn as the season. I wouldn’t walk the path on a warm summer day, there are many unprotected places without shade. They also bothered me with the freezing wind. Together with the very sparse vegetation, a few kilometers were more of a struggle. But after 22 kilometers you at least know what you have achieved.

Spring is not really getting going yet, the third corona wave is rolling, everything is puke at the moment. I couldn't get myself up for more than a rather small group, but at least the birds played along as models. All of you stay healthy and for better times.

I couldn't really motivate myself today, so it was only a short lap in the Bürgerpark. Since, unfortunately, the light didn't play along either, my photos were limited to the animal enclosure.

Last week I trudged through the snow in the Bürgerpark, today I went out into spring on part of the Jakobsweg between Ottersberg in Bremen. From the Ottersberg train station we went along the Wümme through the sunshine, accompanied by the noise of the migratory birds, which flew in all directions and again and again deer. After a tour of Fischerhude, a rather boring and muddy part came to the forest that leads towards Wümmewiesen. There the mixture of sun, blue sky, the flooded meadows and various geese and ducks showed up again from the best side, until I could hop back on the tram at the Borgfelder Landhaus. A great tour that makes you want more.

Birthday in Corona times, just go outside! Unfortunately, the boardwalk through the Pietzmoor was too slippery, so that I turned around after a short time (luckily nobody was behind me, actually you can only go counterclockwise at the moment). The sun couldn't really assert itself either, but the fog also had something. And I won't give up until I know whether the lake is called New Year's Eve or New Year's Eve 😂 The bottom line is a lap to take a deep breath and calm. There are worse ways to start the new year of life.

Somehow it wasn't my hiking day. First a bridge over which the route was supposed to lead was demolished and the proposed alternative should go across the (closed) area of an old people's home and hospital. Then I would rather go back to the train station, especially since the pet cemetery is not trustworthy for Stephen King readers either 🤣 The water mill in Elmeloh and the Stenumer Holz will then be hiked another time.

Today we went to the NORDPFAD Hinzel. Like all NORDPFADE I've hiked so far, the signage is excellent. Almost without exception, the path leads through the forest, but mostly on wide forest roads. Sometimes the street can still be seen when part of the Hinzel was initially a naval arsenal and later a village was built there. Around 1950 a good 350 people lived there, today almost nothing can be seen of them. On an almost continuously overcast January day, the 14 kilometers were enough. From spring to autumn there is definitely a lot more to see and discover.

Mud and asphalt. This is how my first hike of the year can be summed up, something else is beautiful. At the beginning it was mostly on solid paths and asphalt side streets and the area in and around the Friedeholz was quite muddy. The wet and cold weather did the rest, the bottom line is that I got upset as a positive aspect. And at any other time of the year it is definitely very beautiful in Friedeholz.

The last hike of the year. A comparatively small round from the Truperdeich on the Wümme long and across the vastness of the Truper Blänken back. Let 2020 blow out of your head and to a new hiking year 2021.
