Today we started from the fort parking lot 🚙. First towards the source of the Aar, less than 1 km from the car park. We circle Eschenhahn through forest and meadow🌲🌳 and head towards Engenhahn. Before Engenhahn we turn right and follow the outer street of the wildlife park settlement. There is sure to be a good life there ... one beautiful villa follows the next. Huge plots of land with old trees ... not bad.
But that's not why we are here and turn towards the forest. We circle Neuhof, cross Orlen, then up again on the other side of Hühnerstraße to the reconstructed Roman watchtower🏺..🗡. Hard to believe that gladiator fights⚔ once took place here ... from there to the car and there is another beautiful one, sunny hiking day over..👍🙋♂️6 days ago

For sporting activities for my little one ... a good 10km to the weekend start in the local Lahn valley ... from Monday the child will get more exercise again ... "school starts again .."

The most beautiful tour so far 🥇This winter!
We started from the Mengerskirchen side at the node. Up towards the summit, but quickly away from the main path into the forest. Immediately it becomes quieter, ice glistens everywhere in the sun, it encloses branches and shoots. A real photo template!
We keep to the right in the direction of the Krombachtalsperre, 🎏 always downwards. It's as smooth as a mirror under the snow cover, we stumble time and time again. So few people that we can see a lot of deer.
We continue under a clear blue sky on the lake, kites and ice sailors accompany us
At Mademühlen back on solid ground, over fields up to the knot. We can see up to the Feldberg.
Then back to the car and home.

Bitter cold at 8 degrees below zero. Instead there is a somewhat longer "child vitalization round" around the Lahn at the weekend.
