When I read Herbram Wald, I thought that it must go through the forest there. Unfortunately, far from it.
For the entire first half you only walk on a wide swath through completely cleared forest. And the remaining trees are totally dried up spruce trees. There are no shadows.
The second half of the route runs partly over the Eggeweg. It looks a bit better here and at least now and then you actually come through shady forest. I also liked the hiking hut, there is even a guest book.
All in all, it's still more of a path that you don't necessarily have to repeat.

The path of the senses in Extertal is easy to walk, unfortunately sometimes a bit asphalt-heavy. But there is a lot to see, including a particularly beautiful garden.
We also encountered an interesting caterpillar, Google says it is a willow borer. In any case, the caterpillar was huge.
First of all, enjoy a cappuccino in your own garden, with homemade cinnamon rolls.

Today it was dry again and there was sunshine. So immediately took the opportunity to walk the full karst circular path.
I have to say, I really liked yesterday's lap and the missing half that was added today doesn't have that many highlights to offer. Still, I liked the tour.

Unfortunately today only half the round of the karst path. Although the rain radar had only announced drizzle, it started to show heavily halfway through, so we decided to shorten the tour. We were then able to test the backpack's integrated rain cover and it actually kept everything dry. Feet didn't get wet in the shoes either and the outdoor pants made the rain roll off, I think that's a lot more comfortable than soaked jeans. Even so, rain is pretty uncomfortable and so it was good to only walk halfway.
Until then, we really liked the path, especially of course the sculpture path. We will definitely make up for the entire journey.

Finally not too hot for hiking. Although I really like the midsummer temperatures, but not for hiking.
Today we did a very nice tour through the Senne. The highland cattle are allowed to run freely on the paths and graze the landscape. Because it is Senne, you sometimes trudge through deep sand. We also saw a sand pit on the way.
The heather is slowly beginning to bloom. Really nice there.

After we have only made half the route out of ignorance, today Patensteig is complete. Because of Corona the route was closed for a long time, now you can walk there again. But preferably not at the weekend, because then there is almost certainly overcrowding again.
The 2nd part of the route is actually much nicer than the 1st part, which we already knew. Many steps up and down and very varied.
