Long on the to-do list, now finally started - the Viadukt hiking trail in Altenbeken.
Whereby we have shortened the original 30km to 25km.
A great, varied tour with many, very well-prepared meadow paths and of course the "railway highlights" of the large and small viaducts.
In addition to the great viewpoints, we were also delighted by the many wild herbs on the left and right of the route.
And the cows, with a lot of space in their lush pastures, all looked very satisfied. :)The altitude meters are not right here again, Garmin says 600hm, whatever can be achieved.

Repetition of the tour because it is simply by far the most beautiful route on which you can cross the Brocken! 🥾⛰🤩Just like last year, we parked our car in the Winterberg Tour multi-storey car park in Schierke and took the 264 bus to Wernigerode and from there on with the Regional Express 21 to Ilsenburg and just like last year the bus was delayed and from our 12-minute transfer time ( you still have to go from the bus station to the train station) this time there was 1 (!) minute left! If we weren't all trained runners, we probably wouldn't have gotten the train. 😅But on the train we had time to breathe and then we went very comfortably to the passage, the first part always along the Ilse, then on over the root paths at the Bremer Hütte and the steep border path up to the summit. The descent then as usual over the coarse scree masses of the Teufelssteig, which is now eerily bare, but you can already see the new green. 😀A really recommendable tour, which we will certainly not have done for the last time.

Repetition of our tour from last year the other way around, because it is really great and this year without rain-related wetness! 😅 Therefore this time also complete with ascent to figure eight.A really recommendable tour with, for Harz conditions, not too steep climbs, so also for mountain bikers without electrical aids to do well and relaxed

Wonderful Weser cycle path! 🚲❤️Actually only part of the route between Nienburg and Petershagen was planned today, probably the most agricultural and historical stage. Everywhere there are lovingly restored elements of rural history and here and there you come through small villages where you can still see exactly the old farmsteads.A very special highlight at the moment is the glowing red poppy field near Schluesselburg (tip: leave polarizing sunglasses on).And because it was such a great day, instead of going to the train station in Lahde, we drove straight from Peterhagen to Porta Westfalica on the here rather touristy but still beautiful WRW.

Actually, we only wanted to go to Petershagen, but after we arrived so relaxed with a tail wind, we went straight to Loccum ((after strengthening with a crêpes ☺️).
The return tour was of course, as expected, a small drive against the wind😅 ... Still, great tour.

Again and again nice the bike lap around the Steinhuder Meer (provided it is not too overrun 😅), this time counterclockwise. With the Nordwestbahn it was once again problem-free to take bicycles with you and you can get to the sea really comfortably and quickly from the Wunstorf railway!

This tour was actually born out of necessity.Actually, a (meticulously planned 😥) mountain hike to the northern Ith was on the hiking calendar today, the journey to Coppenbrügge should be made by train. However, these plans would already be thwarted after we were on the train in Vlotho, after waiting 10 minutes in the station the train driver informed us that this trip would not take place due to a faulty switch! But the Lower Saxony ticket was bought and couldn't be canceled 😬! So spontaneously another direction to the train to Wunstorf ...We had already done this (train) tour with our bikes last year and circumnavigated the Steinhuder Meer, which was of course not possible today (on foot) at the time already set ...At least there was a delicious fish sandwich in Steinhude and since it started to rain when getting off the train in Wunstorf, there wasn't too much going on on the beach promenade. 😂
