Yesterday my 14 year old asked me to go cycling together. So I planned a 35km scenic tour in suzhou for him. The tour took segments of the longer 70km tour along this area posted by a guy called "Kai" in the competing app Outdooractive. So all credits go to Kai.

Today I went off Shanghai to chase another one of @Gordon highlight routes in Suzhou. The route was wonderful, particularly at the southernmost part of the island. It reminded me a lot of European towns in the Mediterranean. Traffic was terrible due to may holidays, so I highly recommend you 0lan this

Another amazing Sunday weather. I was determined to travel down to the border with Austria, and engage in a 80km tour through the fields and hills. But then my younger son asked me if he could join. So I ended up replanning the whole day, all in terms of location, length and climb. Plus since his bike hasn't arrived yet, we needed to find a rental place close to a train station. I ended up traveling to Tutzing, where I've found an excellent place to rent (see starting point). Very friendly owner, and you can even reserve online. Highly recommended.

This time of the year in Munich is a bit cold and dark early in the morning. Best thing is to go to work early, leave early, and go for a ride in the evening. Severe thunderstorms were announced starting around 8-9pm, so I had to cycle against the clock. The upcoming storm offered some amazing skies though, so all in all a wonderful ride. There was a 2km gravel segment, which *might* require a detour if you are on a sensitive road bike. Other than that, this ride is excellent for road bike as well.

Another amazing day in southern Bavaria. There was not other option but to grab the bike, jump on a train, and travel to Gmund. From there, I made a 50km tour around the lake and its south side, which added about 800m climb to the day. The roads where 99% asphalt, so you can do this with road bike as well.

Today I went for a longer ride, albeit little climb. The tour was suitable for road-bike most of the time, but a few sections made a gravel bike the right choice. The second half of the tour was without doubt the one offering the best landscapes, on the other hand the most crowded. So it was good to balance both sides of the experience.

The good weather in southern Germany keeps asking to cycle. Today I took the train to Starnberg, and went for a gravel mix tour. I have learned my lesson today, and next time I'll avoid surfaces marked as unpaved, sticking to compact gravel, paved or asphalt exclusively. As a small tribute to Gordon, who inspired me a lot to ride in Shanghai, I've took some pictures of churches I've come across. The climbing was a bit tough in some sections, but luckily not for too long. Overall a wonderful tour.

Amazing weather for a Sunday ride. After my previous ride through gravel, I've decided that I would stick to asphalt and only go gravel when no alternative available. There are many wonderful asphalted ways in Aschheim, so the gravel sections were minimal. This reduced the tour time considerably. Highly recommended.

Some people pointed out the sheer number of photos. It turns out that I mainly shoot short videos, which in turn I use later for automatically creating video summary of the tour and share with friends. But Komoot only allows sharing photos. So I've created a simple python script, which takes the folder
