St James is a medieval church, though largely rebuilt at its restoration in 1856. It’s a Grade I listed building.

There’s a bench at the front, making the village of Aslackby (which is pronounced ‘Aze-ul-be’) a good rest spot.

Bourne Woods is an ancient woodland with winding paths, ponds and captivating wildlife such as kingfishers and herons can be seen.

There’s an excellent cycle trail through the woods linking Bourne with Hanthorpe.
