The Zirkelstein is wonderfully exposed - one of the most beautiful views in Saxon Switzerland. All around you can see the large mountains of Bohemian Switzerland, such as the Rabenstein and the Schneeberg. And striking silhouettes of the Saxon rocks, such as Greater and Lesser Zschirnstein, Pfaffenstein, Lilienstein, Schrammsteine, Winterberg and of course - very close - the imperial crown.

The surrounding area around Schöna and the two elevations (Kaiserkrone and Zirkelstein) are picturesque and offer a great destination or starting point for hikes through the surrounding area - I myself started a 30er over the Zschiersteine, Papststein, Bad Schandau to Altendorf - great round.

When the weather is nice, the Zirkelstein is ideal for views of Saxon and Bohemian Switzerland.

This view is worth a climb anyway. The paths and staircases are pretty well developed. In wet weather and snow you have to be a little careful, because the stairs are made of metal (danger of slipping). But always feasible!

Nice short trip with visit to the Oldtimermuseum in Schöna and hike to and on the Zirkelstein. Even the nearby imperial crown is recommended.

The Zirkelstein is located directly opposite the Kaiserkrone, the last part of the ascent consists of ladders. At the top you have a great view. In the main tourist season in summer it is FULL.
