The ridges of the Egge and Teutoburg Forest were almost completely covered by mountain heaths. At the moment, the Höhenweg is unfortunately not as beautiful as the years before - due to the dry summers and the bark beetle, there is tons of dead wood. The mountain heath with its blue bushes is as beautiful (and tasty !!!) as ever.
