The expression "harrow" is a general Low German term for elongated ridges or ridges; The linguistic counterpart is the "Siepen / Siefen / Seifen" (for the notch valleys accompanying the harrows). The Velmerstot route, certified as a quality trail since September 2017, begins in the village of Leopoldstal. From there, the trail climbs to the highest elevation in the Egge Mountains, the Velmerstot. On the twin summits, you'll discover a sandstone obelisk and the Eggeturm. From this 17-meter-high wooden structure, you can enjoy panoramic views over the Land of Hermann to the Brocken and the Soester Börde. The Lippe Velmerstot (approx. 441 meters) lies, as the name suggests, in the Lipperland region, and the Preußische Velmerstot (approx. 464 meters) in the former state of Prussia.

Because both peaks were grazed for many centuries, vast mountain heathlands developed here. Today, the borders of the districts of Lippe, Paderborn, and Höxter meet here. The path eventually descends to the Silberbach stream.
