Where the street Große Freiheit, where the "Star Club" once stood at number 39, meets the Reeperbahn, a round square has been created, which is visually reminiscent of a vinyl record due to its black design: the Beatles Square. At its edge are silhouette sculptures of the five Beatles musicians, alongside the world-famous "Fab Four" and Stuart Sutcliffe, whose sculpture is placed a little apart from the other four. The figure of the drummer leaves it unclear: is it the later Beatles drummer Ringo Starr or Pete Best, who was active during most of the band's time in Hamburg? The square is intended to remind us that the foundations for the Beatles' global career were laid here in Hamburg.
