The Diebshöhle is a layer joint cave on the level of the former Hohnstein quarry. The area of the former quarry is now forested. The cave is located a few meters from the Halbenweg (part of the Malerweg).

The thief cellar on the Quirl is a cave 29 meters long and 5-8 meters wide.
The slopes of the Quirl are structured with holes and run through with many caves. The water that washed out the hard stones 100 million years ago and erosion did a great job here.

There are several caves on the Quirl that you can often walk through or climb. The Diebskeller Cave is the largest layered cave in Saxon Switzerland. An impressive cave that is fun for more than just children.

The descent to the Diebskeller is worthwhile just because of the many moss-covered rocks and stones that can be discovered there, but the "cave" itself is also amazing, offers a place to take a break and linger, and if you have a flashlight or light with you to be able to go deep inside, it is an impressive size (where people have once found shelter) and today a storm should also come unexpectedly.
