Florete Flores is a collection garden with a special history that originated in the former polder village of Oorderen. When Oorderen disappeared from the map in the middle of the last century due to port expansion, René Vertommen (1920 – 2011) brought the garden to Heist-op-den-Berg.

The garden is divided into the following themes: bee plants, ground cover plants, insect plants, utility plants, herb plants, ferns, butterfly plants and climbing plants.

You don't have to be a botanist to enjoy this garden full of plants and flowers, it literally buzzes with life here.

Striking in the landscape are the hundreds of meters long hedges on the edges of the meadows. These hedges, which mainly consist of hawthorn, are green ribbons along which animals can move safely or in which they can build their nests.

Nature lovers will find quiet observation points here for observing stonechat, lapwing, meadow pipit, barn swallow and others.
