The Pariser Platz is a square created during the city expansion in 1734 at the end of the boulevard Unter den Linden in Berlin's Mitte district of the district of the same name. Destroyed in World War II, it lay in the border area of the divided city from 1961 to 1989 and was then rebuilt. On the western edge of the square square is the Brandenburg Gate by Carl Gotthard Langhans.

Brandenburg Gate was part of the border between East and West Berlin until reunification. The buildings destroyed in the war were reconstructed.

On Pariser Platz in Berlin-Mitte there is almost always a cheerful babble of voices in different languages, after all the famous Brandenburg Gate is located here. But Pariser Platz has more to offer than just one of the city's landmarks.

The square on the east side of the Brandenburg Gate was part of the border between East and West Berlin until reunification. After reunification it was completely redeveloped - but visitors still get the impression that there was never a break with the past here.
