It is affiliated with the Landsbond der Christian Mutualiteiten. With 3.4 million members, CM Vlaanderen is the largest federation of health insurance funds in Belgium.

The Christian Mutuality (CM) and the General Christian Trade Union (ACV) are located at numbers 13 through 27 of the Oude Burg, a street whose history dates back to the 13th century, but the current buildings largely date from the late Middle Ages.
The rightmost building of the CM (no. 27) is known as 'Het Hof van Watervliet', which in its original form dates from 1454.
Nos. 17 and 19, in turn, date from the 16th century. All the sub-buildings have a name, some of which can be read on the cartouches on the facade: 'De Gouden Haspe' (The Golden Haspe), 'De Nieuwe Haspe' (The New Haspe), 'De Valcke' (The Valcke), the entrance building of the former Carthusian monastery, 't Wijngaerdken (The Winery), 'St.-Niclaes' (St. Nicholas), etc.
