"The Drei-Brüder-Schacht is a shaft in the Freiberg mining area that was sunk between 1791 and 1818. Originally constructed as part of a drainage project, among other things, it developed into the main shaft of the Segen Gottes Herzog August mine. After the August flood of 2002, severe damage was caused by the overloading of the water-carrying tunnels. On October 27, 2016, after a long renovation, the shaft was ceremonially put back into operation for inspection and maintenance purposes in the presence of representatives of the Saxon State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Labor and Transport, the Saxon Oberbergamt, the city of Freiberg and the Förderverein Drei-Brüder-Schacht e.V. Since then, the Rothschönberger Stolln can be reached again via the Drei-Brüder-Schacht.
