Towards the end of the 18th century Schnackenwoehr consisted of one property. The Bayreuth Stadtvogteiamt Bayreuth had the highest jurisdiction. The manor of the estate was the Aufseß manor. From 1797 to 1808 the town was under the jurisdiction of the Bayreuth Chamber of Justice and Chambers. With the municipal edict, Schnackenwöhr was assigned to the tax district of Truppach formed in 1812 and to the rural municipality of Bärnreuth formed in the same year. In 1818 it was incorporated into Obernsees. Before 1867, Schnackenwöhr was assigned to the municipality of Truppach. On January 1, 1972, this was incorporated into the municipality of Mistelgau as part of the regional reform in Bavaria
