The "Samuel von Brukenthal" National College is a German-language high school in Sibiu. The school was first mentioned in documents in 1380. It is the oldest school in Romania and one of the most important high schools in the city, the most important with exclusively German-language instruction. The current building was built in 1779 and is located in the center on Piața Huet, right next to the Evangelical Parish Church, to which it belonged for a long time. The school is named after Baron Samuel von Brukenthal, who mentioned it in his will and bequeathed significant assets to it.
