On the Ebenalp, you have a wonderful view over Appenzell and beyond.

On the other side you can see the Hohen Kasten, Seealpsee, Schäfler and all the way to Säntis.

Many great hikes start here or lead over the Ebenalp. The famous Wildkirchli and Berggasthaus Äscher are also easy to reach from here.

A special feature is the Bärenhöhle below the Ebenalp, a karst cave in the limestone, at the end of which teeth and claws of cave bears are exhibited in a hut. Through the cave leads a hiking trail, past Wildkirchli to the mountain inn Aescher, which is impressively built under a steep rockfall on the rock. Easily accessible from there are Schäfler, Seealpsee, Altenalp and Bommenalp.

An overnight stay in the Ebenalp after a long Alpstein tour is a great way to end a successful day. From the Ebenalp you get a huge panorama over to Lake Constance. In the early morning hours you can also experience the sunrise over the Fänerenspitz.
