The ascent and descent to/from the Bogartenlücke is tough. From Wasserauen up to the Bogartenlücke, about 800 meters in altitude are mastered almost in one go. Once you've reached the top, it's straight down again. But I just like the Bogartenlücke, the Bogartenmannli still has it, even after many visits, and it still fascinates me 😍. And the way up is steep, but not exposed. It is varied, leads on the outskirts of the water over earthy meadow paths through a wooded section. There is also a short rocky trail section and the views at the top on either side are stunning!

It's less steep if you take the Alp Sigel cable car and then hike comfortably over the Alps to Bogartenlücke.

The ascent and descent (both sides) is actually quite steep and sometimes a bit rough or slippery, but not overly difficult and not exposed. But the effort is definitely worth it, the Bogartenlücke is great. The only direct "pass" from the Wasserauen side in the direction of Bollenwees.
