Set up on the edge of the roundabout next to the Place de la République française, the huge Liège Love City sculpture captivates with its size and its universal message. While some find it difficult to appreciate its impressive dimensions, others see it as a declaration of love for our city. It was installed as part of the Public Art Triennale 2020.

Liège love city - Michael Dans conceives Liège Love City as "a diffuser of well-being, a terminal with positive waves". The idea of sculpting a talking hand came from the sign language used by scuba divers, the most famous of which combines thumb and forefinger to indicate that all is well. "I transformed it to look like a heart. It is important for me to use the emotions aroused by my projects as vectors to deliver content, a thought. Emotions vary according to the proposals. This time, I hope to inspire joy. The sculpture recalls the rays of the sun by its golden reflections. It also evokes the mudras of the hands of the giant Buddhas which bring good humor and love. My message is simple: Liège is a city of light, a positive place where life is good. "
