The interior of the church contains some remarkable works of art, including 16th-century stained glass windows and the magnificent Lamentation of Christ by Jean Del Cour from 1696.

It's not just the cathedral itself that's worth seeing; The cloister is also worth a visit. In addition to numerous gravestones, including those of former prince-bishops, it also houses the famous treasury (Trésor de Liège).

A predecessor of Saint Paul's Cathedral was founded in 966 by Bishop Eracle (959-971), Notger's immediate predecessor. It is the first church on the island, built on the banks of the Meuse, southwest of the city, i.e. from Saint-Lambert. The current Gothic-style church was built from 1240 and completed between 1417 and 1430, and the cloister was rebuilt from 1445. The church was consecrated on April 11, 1289. The tower was built over in 1804 with the bell tower and the spire. During the restoration (1850–1875), the double aisles of the choir were built and lined with stone balustrades. The north and south gables are decorated with hooks and surmounted by statues.
Internal dimensions: Total length: 82.75 m / Transept length: 33.50 m / Height: 24 m / Nave and choir width: 11 m.
