Castle Mickeln formerly served as a mansion. Today it serves as a venue for the Düsseldorf Heinrich Heine University. Schloss Mickeln is one of the most interesting classical-historicist buildings in the Rhineland. The driveway was designed as Lindenallee. The park was designed in 1843 by the Düsseldorf garden architect Maximilian Friedrich Weyhe. He was a grandson of the famous garden architect Lenné who designed the Cologne flora among other things.

The over 150-year-old linden trees of the access road and the meadow in front of Gut Meierhof are just as much a part of the initial planting as the two Lebanon cedars registered as a natural monument, a ginkgo and some striking plane trees and beech trees ...
