The Werstener Lid is a green area above the A46 motorway, which previously separated the “Green Settlement” from the rest of the Wersten district. It was completed in 1987 as part of the Federal Garden Show. There you will find playgrounds and rest areas as well as walking paths. We also particularly recommend the path along the Düssel, which was relocated to the south side of the A46 as part of the construction work. The main part of the Düsselwasser then flows under the Kölner Landstrasse as Brückerbach and flows into the Rhine at Himmelgeist. The smaller part of the water flows through a culvert under the A46 as the inner southern Düssel towards the old town.
