The crystalline plutonic rocks of the Odenwald are not only very old, but their elongated shape means that some specimens emit a fine sound. These "sounding stones" can even be used as instruments. Why not try the three stones you find there?

The small sea of rocks is also very pretty and not nearly as crowded on weekends.

Yes, in the smallest of spaces you can find not only the ringing stones but also the small sea of rocks. Things are quieter here than in its larger counterpart.
The nearby hiking car park offers an ideal starting point for beautiful tours.

On the edge of Steinau is the small rocky sea - which seems like a miniature edition, if you know the rocky sea in Lautertal. The stones have a special sound - to hear this - 3 stones are attached to small posts for demonstration purposes.
