Damme is a great place, who knows the Flemish Til Ulenspiegel will feel transported back to the 16th century. And should visit the museum next to the town hall. In the Maria-Himmel-Fahrtkirche the last piece of a miracle-working cross can be found. It was brought to Damme around 1300 by Fischer from the sea.

Nope. Don't plan on getting there before 10 am if you want coffee or something to eat. Just not much there. If you have been around Bruge, Damme is a letdown. Stopped, left.

Damme is a popular destination on a Bruges city trip or on a Flanders tour from Cadzand-Bad: The small Belgian town in the polders is particularly attractive with its picturesque location on the Damse Vaart canal between Sluis and Bruges with a view of the Schelle windmill, with a medieval market square and, last but not least, its many restaurants and antique shops.
