As early as 1711, it was a stately old tree, where Duke Eberhard Ludwig erected a hunting lodge. It was named "Jahneiche" (Jane Oak) on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Zuffenhausen Gymnastics Club in 1929.

The Jahneiche is a natural monument in the Stuttgart district of Zuffenhausen. The pedunculate oak in the area of the confluence of the Langen Allee and today's Marconistraße is mentioned as a stately old tree, in which Duke Eberhard Ludwig had a hunting pavilion built for his hunting grounds on the Schlotwiese. On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Zuffenhausen gymnastics club, it received the name Jahneiche in 1929 after the "gymnastics father" Friedrich Ludwig Jahn.
