The New Palace in the Baden-Württemberg capital of Stuttgart was built between 1746 and 1807 on behalf of the dukes and kings of Württemberg as a residential and residential palace. It is located in the immediate vicinity of the Old Palace and, together with the Schloßplatz, forms the center of the city of Stuttgart.

Duke Carl Eugen von Württemberg (1744-1793) had the New Palace built in the middle of Stuttgart, the last large baroque residential palace complex in Germany. It took several decades to complete. The destruction of the castle in 1944 followed from 1958 to 1964 the reconstruction. Today, the state government uses the central tract of the New Palace for prestigious receptions and events. The wing houses the Ministry of Finance and Economics.

In the meadows in front of the castle, you can relax in the summer.

Tip:
In the basement vaults of the New Palace, the Roman Lapidary is housed, an important collection of Roman provincial stone monuments.
