Location and history: The Killesberg is the highest foothills of the Feuerbacher Heide. The district of Stuttgart named after it belongs to the district of Stuttgart-Nord. It is north of the center of Stuttgart on the border with the district of Feuerbach.
The summit of the Killesberg is a 383 m above sea level. NHN high hilltop on the western edge of the Höhenpark, on which the German Red Cross operates an old people's home.
In the vernacular, the term Killesberg is often referred to the district Am Bismarckturm adjacent to the south-west with the 409.5 m above sea level. NHN high Gähkopf, on which the Bismarck Tower is located, and is a synonym for the upscale residential area of the entire area.
To the east of the new development area at Höhenpark is the well-known Weißenhofsiedlung from 1927 and to the west of it the Porzellanhofsiedlung from 1933.

There is no secured name origin of the Killesberg. However, it is assumed that the term is derived from Külle (Celtic: mountain nose, hilltop). Drawings from 1820 show the Killesberg as a completely undeveloped hill on which wine was cultivated. From November 27, 1941, the first trains departed from Killesberg, in which Jews from Württemberg were brought to Riga. Today, the district is best known for the Killesberg Park located there. From 2009, an extension of the Höhenpark, a new district center and hundreds of new apartments at the Höhenpark were built on the site of the former trade fair.
