The Haag hydroelectric power plant, as it exists today, is the site of the former mill, founded in 1612 by Landgrave Moritz I, which burned to the ground on October 12, 1923. The power plant has been family-owned since 1939.

The old town of Rotenburg an der Fulda is one of the best-preserved half-timbered towns in Germany. It lies on the German Fairy Tale Route and is surrounded by a well-preserved city wall with towers.

The Fulda Cycle Route (Hessian Long-Distance Cycle Route R1) is a 255- to 260-kilometer-long, well-developed cycle path that runs from the source of the Fulda River near Gersfeld in the Rhön region to Hann. Münden, where the Fulda and Werra rivers merge into the Weser, and continues to Bad Karlshafen.

The cycle path offers a varied route through nature and culture, crossing the Fulda floodplains near Kassel, a near-natural reserve with numerous birdlife. The route is predominantly gently sloping, making it suitable for a wide audience, although alternative routes are recommended during flooding.

There's shade here in the afternoon (June). It's quite pleasant in hot weather.
