Canals have been feeding Perpignan for a very long time. In the 14th century, a Royal canal was thus built. The works undergoing the floods, different routes have been carried out with always major restorations of the works. The Rodès canal, still in use, was created in the 18th century following one of these floods.

The Organs of Ille-sur-Têt are fairy chimneys located on a geological and tourist site in the town of Ille-sur-Têt, in the French department of Pyrénées-Orientales. They result from the erosion of sedimentary rocks four million years old.

Nice hike along the canal. In the shade even in summer. The gorge and the tunnels of the canal on one side and the Têt on the other are a delight. Watch out for dogs and small children. The water current is strong.

"The current church and priory of Sainte-Marie de Serrabone, as it has been called in full since at least 1082, is best known for the famous gallery in the middle of the nave, unique in Catalan Romanesque art. The interpretation of its sculptures is still extensive problematic. Today it appears as a platform supported by fourteen columns and pillars, twelve of which are made of marble and equipped with capitals and bases. Its construction is dated between 1130 and 1150." This church, the Abbey de Saint-Michel de Cuxa, was dedicated to the Archangel Michael. The name (coming from Hebrew) means "Who is like God?". He is often depicted - on paintings or as a statue - with a flaming sword, and occasionally a lance.
