Planès is a charming little village organized into four hamlets facing each other on different hillsides. The town is ideally located on the GR 10 and offers hikers various accommodations (camping and lodges). It is also a superb landmark for observing wildlife, surprising a few marmots, listening to the call of the deer or watching hordes of chamois running. Many hiking trails leave from the village.

Beautiful hiking section, perfect for swimming and picnics. We walked directly in the river with the swimming shoes :)

Very beautiful viaduct from 1907 over which the famous Train Jaune runs.

You can enter it from the south side. It's like a small village on the inside. With café and touristic things. Probably a good lunch/coffee spot.

Very good looking gite for GR10 hikers with swimming pool. Unfortunately, I didn't go out for too long that day and continued hiking.
