Here is a beautiful sandy bay on the Elbe.

Since 1991, historic mailboxes have hung on two buildings. "Can you really post mail here? And where do these mailboxes actually come from?" Lauenburg's tourists often ask this question when they see the somewhat unusual mailboxes on Elbstraße. They're blue, richly ornate, and clearly from another era. These historic examples hang in front of houses at numbers 18 and 59, never failing to amaze – and a popular photo subject.

Under the motto "Man-Model-Machine" you can learn all kinds of interesting facts about the developments in working and living conditions in shipbuilding over the last 1,000 years in the museum. The exhibition extends over three floors and is exciting for the whole family thanks to its interactive nature.
