From the former "Lösewitzer Laube" restaurant, the signposted trail follows the Saale River bend below Plötzkau Castle. The trail is mostly on easy-to-walk, safe surfaces with asphalt paving and forest paths with a water-bound surface. There are also a few short sections with less safe surfaces (gravel). Maximum gradients/gradients of up to 3% are encountered. The trail is signposted throughout. Information boards provide easy orientation. The trail is car-free. There are three seating areas along the entire route.

regulates shipping traffic on the Saale federal waterway and is located in the center of Bernburg, very close to Bernburg Castle. The historic lock was built between 1935 and 1938 and is operated and maintained by the Magdeburg Waterways and Shipping Authority.

The tradition of mills in Alsleben goes back to the Middle Ages. From 1212, the old mill on the Saale was owned by the “Zum neuen Werk” monastery in Halle. In 1479, it was taken over by the Krosigk noble family, lords of the county of Alsleben. They replaced the old mill with a new building in 1724. After modernization by the later owners “Eichel and Meyhoff” from 1875, the mill became part of “Stadtmühle Alsleben GmbH” in 1911 and was expanded in 1923. At that time, the mill was one of the largest in Germany. After the Second World War, it was known as “VEB Saalemühlen”, later as part of the “Vereinigte Mühlenwerke VEB Saalemühlen Bernburg”. After reunification, the mill was taken over by the Bindewald and Gutting families in 1992. In 1994, it was relocated to newly built production buildings in the north of Alsleben behind the former train station.
