Every Wednesday and Friday, regional products are offered for sale at Wittichenau's market square. From 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days, you can indulge in delicacies from Lusatia. Whether it's milk or cheese from the KRABAT dairy, fish from nearby ponds, or locally grown fruit and vegetables – at Wittichenau's weekly market, you'll find many delicious products that impress with their freshness.

It is wonderfully relaxing to watch the swans on the water and look at the beautiful water lilies.

There are various benches for resting and looking. However, if you want a café or ice cream stand, I have to pass. I haven't spotted either of them.

In 2007, the 6th Krabatfest took place at the castle, which was opened by the President of the Saxon State Parliament, Erich Iltgen. A year later, the 100th anniversary of the almost completely renovated castle was celebrated on the private grounds with the local residents.[5] After the death of the owner in 2014, the castle was sold to a Dresden entrepreneurial couple in October 2015

The Deutschbaselitzer Großteich, Upper Sorbian Pazličanski wulki hat, is a pond in Saxony that was created between 1532 and 1542. The pond is located northeast of Kamenz near Deutschbaselitz in Upper Lusatia. The pond initially consisted of three individual ponds. It was not until around 1800 that Karl Heinrich and Friedrich Christlieb von Zezschwitz (see also memorial plaque picture 4) converted it into its current form by removing the intermediate dams.
