The water mill for grist and grinding operations was built in 1723. From the end of the 18th century there was also a brandy distillery in the side building. From 1789 to 1866, the building was owned by the Hilsebein family for three generations. In 1866 the mill was sold to the manor owner in Hohnstädt, Dr. Platzmann, sold but continued to be operated by the Hilsebei family. In 1890 the last land miller had an accident in the comb wheel pit. During the GDR era, the mill was used as a local recreation and training center for VEB MAG employees. There are no longer any restaurants, but the buildings serve as artists' apartments and studios.
