The extensive Roman Empire in the centuries before and after Christ was ruled by emperors, one of the most famous to this day being JULIUS CAESAR, depicted here. The emperors in that era were almost always generals who sought to expand the empire through campaigns of conquest. Caesar's soldiers conquered large areas of Gaul and Germania. To the south of the Rhine on the left bank of the Rhine in the present-day city of Bonn there was a Roman fort, and due to its Roman origins the city was already able to celebrate its 2000th anniversary. This monument was erected in this context.

The former Quirrenbach station building was converted into a residential building after the narrow-gauge railway line from Niederpleis to Rostingen was dismantled, but is still quite easy to identify. At the intersection with the road, a sign provides information about the station and the railway line. Quirrenbach station is part of the 17km railway line, now connected to a cycle path.

Worth noting is a memorial stone that the (then still independent) city of Beuel (now a district of Bonn) placed on November 9, 1968 in the Jewish cemetery between Schwarz-Rheindorf and Geislar. The inscription reads: “Remember your murdered Jewish fellow citizens, so that this time never returns.”
