We were surprised by the tilted water level gauge and thought the "E"s or "3"s must be smaller/larger due to the tilt. Well, travel is educational. We found what we were looking for on Wikipedia: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pegel It's a calibrated, tilted water level gauge, with divisions in decimetre increments. The deepest water point serves as a reference value, and the water depth can be read to within 1 cm. And indeed: even though we didn't see it, the divisions must be elongated.

With stamp for the 2nd stage

A very beautiful swimming (reservoir) lake in the heart of the Eifel region. The lake itself isn't very large and can be circumnavigated quickly. The sunbathing lawn quickly fills up on summer days. There's a great lakeside bar, pedal boat rentals, and a designated area for dogs. From the lake, there are numerous options for all kinds of tours.

Unfortunately, there is only the stamp for stage 2 left.

There is a beautiful path through the valley, which is lined with gorse slopes and a picturesque hedgerow landscape. Along the stream you will also find small alluvial forests and pretty fishing ponds.

Beautiful little lake, but extremely crowded on hot days.
