On this non-asphalted but compact terrain, you can enjoy a very Finnish countryside. The coastline is really beautiful south of Vaasa and you can pedal in all tranquillity under the trees.

Unfortunately the church was not open when we visited. From the outside it is a very impressive building.

The church was also destroyed in the devastating fire of 1852. The ruins of the old port city are now 7 km from the coast due to the ongoing land uplift. The complex can, however, be visited and the walls are a reminder of the city's history.
