Tampereen Kauppahalli is the largest market hall in Northern Europe and was opened in 1901 in the Art Nouveau style. Designed by architect Hjalmar Åberg, it is now a listed building. The approximately 2,100 m² hall houses over 30 stalls selling regional food, delicatessen items, and small cafés. Local specialties such as mustamakkara and freshly baked bread are particularly popular. The hall is considered the heart of the city center, combining a historic atmosphere with vibrant Finnish market culture.

Many small stalls and restaurants offer good food at reasonable prices, with something for every taste. Whether it's fish, reindeer, French pastries, or classic Finnish fish soup, a visit is always worthwhile.

The large church is one of the sights in Tampere and it is worth taking a break and taking pictures here. There are many signs around town pointing the direction to the church.

Flat, easy to drive gravel road directly on the lake shore near Pispala. The surrounding area is very green and beautiful to look at.

The blue-grey granite building in the Finnish national romantic style was built between 1902 and 1907. In 1923 the church became a cathedral. On the ceiling of the nave you can see the serpent from paradise holding in its mouth the apple from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

Finlayson Church is a former church of the Finlayson cotton mill on the Finlayson factory site in Tampere, completed in 1879. The church was built by Wilhelm von Nottbeck, the director of the mill. The church was formerly used as a place of worship for factory workers. Today it belongs to the Evangelical Lutheran congregations in Tampere and is used as a children's church and a popular wedding church. The church was originally completed as a prayer room. It was consecrated to the church on September 28, 2009 by Bishop Matti Repo.
