Pihtipudas is a destination where nature and culture meet, offering visitors a wide array of activities. Located amidst 140 lakes, it's a paradise for outdoor lovers with trails, fishing, and boating. The town is also known as the "Javelin Capital" of Finland and hosts a famous annual Javelin Carnival, which draws international athletes and includes a unique Javelin Museum.

These impressive boardwalks lead through the marshes and sparse forests along the banks of the Heinäjoki River, offering fantastic views. You're quite sure to spot some waterfowl along the way.

8/22: Warning: from here on it is no longer rideable and the barely marked/visible path ends after 600m at a hut by the lake! Single trail not suitable for cycling! The gravel road ends in a dead end! Avoid this area and take a wide detour on the main roads! No cycleway, only footpath with rocks. After 600 m no more way exists for a distance of 1,000 m!! It's better to go around this area and cycle longer, but better, by the main roads to Kinnula!

Pithipudas Church is the oldest wooden cruciform church in use in Central Finland. It was built in 1783.
