St. Mary’s Church of Lappee is a unique natural and cultural site of the Saimaa Geopark, located in central Lappeenranta. Built in 1794 by Juhana Salonen, it is the only wooden double cruciform church from the 18th century in Finland. A nice bridge with an impressive view of the canal. The cycling roads are separate from the normal roads, making it a safe place to cross the canal without a hassle.

The oldest Russian Orthodox Church in Finland is dedicated to the Virgin Mary and was completed in 1785. Opening hours Church is open 8 June - 29 Aug 2021 Tue - Sun at 11 am - 3 pm

The area is freely accessible at the end of the port. Very admirable what artists can do with sand here. Very nice sand formations. In 2023 it was fairy tale characters.
