Marela is the local museum of a wealthy shipping family. It shows the family's life in the early 1900s. Marela also hosts several temporary exhibitions of the Rauma Museum. Marela was owned by the Granlund family from the 1870s until 1906. Original Granlund-era furnishings include decorative Marela tiled stoves, doors, ceiling paintings and paneling. Marela has been a museum since 1982.

The Trinity Church, built at the end of the 15th century, was destroyed in the city fire of 1640. But its ruins have been preserved to this day.

The Church of the Holy Cross has a rich history dating back to the 15th century. It was originally built as a monastery church of the Franciscan monastery Rauma. While the exact age of the church remains unknown, historians believe that the current stone church was completed between 1515 and 1520. An interesting fact about the Church of the Holy Cross is that it served as a Lutheran church after the dissolution of the Franciscan monastery during the Swedish Reformation. It became the main church of Rauma Parish in 1640 when the nearby Holy Trinity Church was destroyed by fire.

Rauma is located on the Gulf of Botnia and is one of the oldest ports in Finland. Built around a Franciscan monastery and home to the mid-15th century Church of the Holy Cross, the town is an outstanding example of an ancient Nordic town built from wood. Although it was devastated by fire in the late 17th century, it has retained its ancient architectural heritage.
