Unfortunately, the bird watching tower (after it was already closed last year) is no longer there this year 😔 (as of summer 2024)

The Luosto consists of several peaks and together with the Pyhätunturi fell, which adjoins to the south-east, forms a 35-kilometre-long mountain range that clearly stands out from the flat surroundings. The highest peak of Luosto is called Ukko-Luosto. It can be reached via a staircase with 670 steps. The Pyhänkasteenlampi Lake is crystal clear. The thick granite boulders are reflected in the surface and can be seen in the water. A very beautiful place and sacred to the Sami people.
