Hitonhauta is the largest gorge in central Finland. You can find impressive cliffs, a waterfall, a small pond and some caves here. According to legend, this is the tomb of an evil spirit named Hitto, who lived here. Apparently, his petrified face can be seen on the rock face in the gorge.

Next to the pier for scheduled and excursion boats, there is also a marina for pleasure boats. You can also rent a boat or take a trip across the lake on a restaurant boat.

This is the former home of Nokia. Research and development for an entire generation of mobile phones was conducted here. As is well known, this era ended with Apple's iPhone and Google's Android operating system. Nokia's N98 series no longer had a future.

On the sandy beach in Palokkajärvi you can unwind and cool off during a bike ride. The sunbathing lawns all around offer enough space.

Fishing boats and private sailing boats are moored in Jyväskylä Marina. You can watch the hustle and bustle in the harbor from the shore path.

The Nero Staircase on the Haju Ridge was built in 1925 as a job creation scheme. The city engineer at the time, Oskar Nero, gave it its name.

Very beautiful rock formations and caves are to be visited. Unfortunately not easy to commit.
