Rantatie is a beautiful asphalt road connecting Hollolan kirkonkylä with Messilä. More than half of it has a separate cycle path alongside it.

Kalmarinranta is a well-equipped beach and recreational area near Vääksy, considered one of the best sandy beaches in Southern Finland. The beach has shallow water perfect for children, and activities like beach volleyball, tennis, and frisbee golf are easily accessible. Cyclists can reach the area via Kalmarintie and enjoy a relaxed break with plenty of space to rest. It’s especially lively in August during the Anianpelto fair.

Vääksy Canal is one of Finland’s most popular inland waterways, connecting Lake Vesijärvi to Lake Päijänne in the heart of Asikkala. Built in the 1870s, it’s still in use today and attracts both boaters and visitors interested in watching the lock system in action. The canal area is lively in summer, with cafés, local shops, and a marina creating a pleasant atmosphere. Kariniemi Park is a scenic green area near the centre of Lahti, known for its forested hills and views over Lake Vesijärvi. The park is home to the Kariniemi Arboretum with a variety of tree species and well-maintained walking and cycling paths. It’s a peaceful stop for cyclists, offering benches, open lawns and shady spots for a short rest or picnic. The area is also known for the Lanu Sculpture Park, where visitors can explore modern stone artworks integrated into nature. A trekking or cross bike is suitable for the park’s gravel and forest paths.
