The IJsselmeer is the largest inland lake in the Netherlands and is an important habitat for waterfowl, fish, and other aquatic animals. Gulls, geese, and occasionally cormorants are regularly seen here. The combination of open water, reed banks, and the rural landscape of Urk creates a sense of space, tranquility, and connection with nature.

위르크 해변은 등대와 오래된 마을 중심지 근처 IJsselmeer에 있는 작고 아늑한 해변입니다. 이곳에서는 많은 인파 대신 고요함, 물 위로 펼쳐지는 전망, 편안한 분위기를 즐길 수 있습니다. 어린이 동반 가족이나 제방을 따라 걷거나 자전거를 타는 동안 잠시 쉬어가기에 이상적입니다. 얕은 물은 아이들이 발을 담그거나 놀기에 안전합니다. 담요를 가져와 지나가는 배들을 바라보며 피크닉을 즐기세요. 해변 방문을 등대를 향한 옆 돌길 산책과 결합하거나, 근처 Urkerbos를 방문하여 시원한 그늘 속 산책을 즐기세요. 여름에는 해변 근처에서 작은 행사나 푸드트럭을 자주 볼 수 있습니다.

The harbor of Urk is the vibrant heart of the former island of Urk and exudes maritime history. This authentic fishing port lies on the IJsselmeer lake and is surrounded by historic buildings, charming terraces, and fishing boats that set sail daily. The aroma of freshly fried fish, the sound of seagulls, and the view of traditional cutters make this a charming place full of character. Take a stroll along the quay and sample a fresh portion of kibbeling (fried fish) or smoked eel at one of the local fish stalls. Also visit the Urk fishermen's monument and walk to the lighthouse for a magnificent view of the IJsselmeer lake – especially at sunset. In summer, botter trips are often available: a unique way to get out on the water and admire Urk from the IJsselmeer lake.

Along the dikes of the IJsselmeer on the west side of the Noordoostpolder lies one of the largest wind farms in the Netherlands, with a total of 86 wind turbines on land and in the water.
