The largest and nicest beach is within walking distance of the iconic Urk lighthouse. It is a very child-friendly beach because the bottom slopes very gradually. Leave your surfboard at home because there is little wave here.

It does not always have to be the Dutch North Sea. Urk the beautiful fishing village with the funny name is not only great as a starting point for day trips, but offers everything that makes the heart of Holland beat faster: cute little houses, a lighthouse, seagulls screaming and walks on the water.
