Bridge over the Westerwoldsche Aa, part of the Ruiten Aa.

The Wedderborg is named after the village of Wedde, which is located nearby. The part that remains of the old stone house, the cellar, dates from the second half of the 15th century. Nowadays it is a children's hotel for young people who have social and societal difficulties. The borg and the museum are free to visit.

The old Engelkensbrug is a charming bicycle and pedestrian bridge that has connected the landscape between Veele and Wessinghuizen since 1924. Once the only passage over the water, the original bridge is still there, right next to the wider bridge from 1957, and is loved by photographers because of its rural location and nostalgic appearance.

A nice little restaurant. When the weather's nice, you can sit outside under the open sky. It's actually right on the road, but you have to be careful not to drive past it. Card payments are limited; our debit and Giro cards weren't accepted. It was probably a technical issue. Cash payments are also accepted.
